The complete process of Sterilization just does not include the Sterilizing machines like Autoclave or liquids like Gluteraldehyde but it starts right from the handling of instruments before and after the procedure and also storing them in a sterile environment to prevent any contaminations. Let us look at the step by step procedure that we follow at World Dental Specialities to achieve the best results
1. Cleaning:
As the name suggests it is cleaning of the instruments under running water to remove the soft debris and organic tissues, to prepare the instruments for Sterilization. Each instrument is cleaned by hand with a brush using water and detergent.
2. Ultrasonic bath:
After cleaning the instruments, we place them in Ultrasonic bath which contains Glutaraldehyde & 1,6 dihydroxy 2,5-dioxahexane solution to further remove debris under ultrasonic vibrations for 15 minutes
3. Lubrication and Corrosion Prevention:
Non-Stainless steel instruments tend to Rust when sterilized in techniques like Autoclaving or Hot water baths. To prevent Rusting, instruments are dried prior to Sterilizing. This is an important step as it helps in increasing the life cycles of instruments.
4. Packaging
It helps us in keeping the instruments clean after Sterilizing and prevents it from being exposed to surrounding environment. The packaging of Instruments before Sterilizing are done using Autoclave Pouches to help in storing the instruments after sterilizing and directly supplying the same to the Dental chair without having to handle them.
5. Sterilization Procedure:
This is the heart of the Sterilizing procedure and it is important to determine what type of Sterilization procedure is performed on the specific instrument. All instruments are sterilized using Autoclave machine. It helps in eliminating bacteria, viruses, fungi, and spores. We at World dental specialities use the best world class German production DAC professional class autoclaves of Dentsply Sirona. It has a compact solution with integrated fresh water and waste water tank. Documentation can be done with printer, CF card or directly on the PC without additional documentation software. Sterilisation (quick program S) is possible in just 15 minutes (without drying)
For sterilization of hand-pieces we use DAC Universal. It cleans, lubricates (if necessary) and disinfects up to six straight and contra-angle handpieces and turbines in a fully automated process. Furthermore, ultrasonic / sonic handpieces and tips, nozzles of multifunctional syringes and powder jet devices as well as powder jet handpieces can be reprocessed at a very high level of hygienic safety in DAC Universal.

Sinius offers integrated hygiene function to prevent spread of infection. This purging function must be done after every patient visit to ensure infection free environment. Not only hand-pieces/three-way syringes get sanitized but the whole internal tubing system gets sterilized. After each patient, there is a cycle of 5 minutes of purging where suction hoses and the internal tubes get cleaned off from patients’ saliva and other infectious agents automatically, quickly and easily. At the end of each day, a 1 hour cycle is carried out which sanitizes the whole internal tubing system of the chair to reduce any retrograde infection from water lines.
